Happy Thanksgiving!
We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a good time with family, friends, pets, or whoever else you may have chosen to spend your Thanksgiving with. We had a wonderful holiday! It was my first official time to host Thanksgiving! My Mom and Dad came down from the Quad Cities on Wednesday and stayed until Saturday morning. My Mom and I fixed quite a spread for the four of us. Jon and I finished our FOURTH meal on the stuff this afternoon. (I think I’m done with leftovers for now…) I gave Mom and Dad a tour of Headquarters on Wednesday afternoon, and Thursday night we went to the plaza lighting ceremony. The weather was perfect and the music was good and I only got a little claustrophobic in the crowd. As always, the time went by too quickly and I‘m left with a case of holiday let-down, but, in the words of my father… “A good time was had by all.”
In other news…Jon starts a new job tomorrow. This job is in an office setting and will last through the month of December at least. We’re thankful for this new job, but are still praying for something with a little more stability as he goes through school. Right now we’re just taking life one week at a time!
We’re getting in the holiday spirit. There are two radio stations in KC we’ve been listening to that play Christmas music all season and we decorated our apartment yesterday. Tonight is that “Hanging of the Greens” service at our church, so I’m sure that will be a good time.
That’s it for now! Welcome to the holiday season! I hope you are able to enjoy all the good things this season brings!

Amber-
Josh and I ended up going to the lighting ceremony Thanksgiving night as well. It was really beautiful and I enjoyed the music greatly. Too bad we couldn't have met up with you and your family. Maybe next year.
We need to get coffee and chat sometime soon. Josh and I are taking a "winter holiday" to San Francisco Sat-Wed. Yet, I will give you a call when we get back. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods! -Beth
